If you haven't seen the appalling advert for Man Therapy, read on from the second paragraph. If you have had the misfortune to view the advert, please don't be put off by what some Denver based marketing agency did which was then, with the best of intentions, taken up by beyondblue to promote men's health and treat the level of suicide by men. It is an important issue and doesn't belong with misplaced satire and 1950's décor. I have been working with GPs, sexual health physicians, men's health services, and real men for two decades. I have never known of anything like that which the advert depicts happening to a bloke asking for help.
I have been working with GPs, sexual health physicians, men's health services, and men for two decades. I am comfortable with all styles of language, names of bits and practices, and if you don't know a name for something, there's a pretty good chance I do!
Arising from my work with war veterans came the opportunity to spend a lot of time with men who were tough enough to survive a war, but human enough to need support. I have learnt greatly from my hours with them and some formal training -we've all got better.
Whether you have concerns about: work and career; relationships and communication; expressing anger and frustration; balancing work - life - alcohol/drug use; or specific concerns regarding erections, orgasm and ejaculation, I have some evidence-based, information and techniques which can be used to make life more enjoyable and fulfilling.
I would always prefer you discuss your concerns with your GP prior to making an appointment.
